Jessy Mendiola got candid on why she and her husband Luis Manzano decided to renew their vows.
In case you missed it, the celebrity couple tied the knot again on February 15th in a church ceremony held in Coron, Palawan. This marks their second wedding, three years after their initial civil ceremony.
In her latest Instagram post, Jessy posted a picture of her and Luis kissing their first child Isabella Rose, whom they fondly call “Peanut,” sweetly on the forehead as she opened up on the “main reason” for their second wedding.
“Luis and I promised each other that when the time is right, we would push through with our dream wedding. Our dream was to get the Lord’s blessing on our union and we wanted both our families present during that special moment,” Jessy wrote.
“It was also the first time Rosie met my whole family, from my parents down to her cousins,” she added.
The actress detailed that they first held their wedding in a chapel before they moved to a beautiful beach ceremony witnessed by all of their nearest and dearest.
“What a wonderful feeling to be walked down the aisle by your parents. Seeing Rosie and Luis at the end of the aisle will be a memory embedded in my heart (and mind) forever,” Jessy highlighted.
She continued, “I never thought I’d be able to experience this. Thank you Lord God for making this happen.”
Jessy ended her post by emphasizing how her “heart is so so full” and that she “will cherish this moment forever.”
Aside from this, the local star also opened up about her realizations on love as she delighted her followers with more wedding pictures, sharing that being with Luis for almost eight years and being married to him for three years had taught her so many things.
“One of them is that love is not always easy, and that it isn’t supposed to be easy all the time. You have to constantly work hard for it. And that’s okay,” she said, adding that she’s “choosing to work harder” for her significant other’s love and happiness.
She also gushed about how Peanut is their “biggest blessing.”
“I always say this, kayo lang.. sapat na. I promise to love our family with all my being. I promise to always choose you over and over again even on our hardest days and I promise to protect our peace and happiness. I love you Peanut… And I love you, my howhow. Forever and always,” she wrote.
Jessy first tied the knot with Manzano at The Farm in San Benito in Batangas in February 2021 after five years of dating. They welcomed their daughter in January 2023.
