It was in 2019 when Gerald made headlines for his controversial split with fellow actress Bea Alonzo. Years later, Bea revealed that Gerald just *stopped* talking to her, signaling the end of their romance.
August 2019: Julia addressed the controversy involving her in Gerald and Bea’s breakup.
Julia spoke up and addressed two issues in August 2019. She strongly debunked rumors that she cheated on her ex-boyfriend Joshua Garcia which led to their separation; and she also commented on the grueling rumors that she had caused a couple to break up, the insinuation being that the couple was Gerald and Bea at the time.
“These past weeks, my faith, my patience, and my strength were put to the test. I have endured many harsh words hurled against me and my family everywhere on social media. It is exhausting and painful. While some might have forgotten, I am also human,” she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post.
Julia boldly stated, “From now on, anything I do in my private and love life is not considered as cheating, and is none of anyone’s business. Secondly, I believe Gerald has already made it clear that a third party was not the cause of their breakup. I would like to disassociate myself from the breakup of Bea and Gerald. Their issues are entirely their own.”
She even directly called out Bea for posting an allegedly cryptic post amid rumors about her split with Gerald. “Bea, you wanted to keep your hands clean by not mentioning me in your controversial post, but with a click of your finger, in your sly way, you have charged everybody to destroy me for you. Almost two years after Gerald and Bea’s messy breakup, the actor broke his silence on his relationship with Julia. In a tell-all interview with Boy Abunda, he revealed that Julia was his source of happiness.
He also confirmed his very happy status with Julia and said, “Very happy, Tito Boy. It’s a yes.”

In one of Gerald’s YouTube vlogs, he asked Julia about her long-term plans in life. Apparently, the actress saw herself starting her own family in five years!
“I always dream of living a simple, quiet life,” she explained. “Family life.”
Despite living a very public showbiz life from the get-go, Julia looks forward to the day when she can enjoy a quiet life. “It was kind of like the only life I knew. So I felt like that’s where I was gonna end up now. But in the future, a simple, quiet life is what I dream,” she told Gerald.
August 2021: Julia is “the one” for Gerald.
Months after Julia revealed her future plans for a family, Gerald opened up about his views on marriage with the actress.
In another tell-all interview with Tito Boy, Gerald expressed his desire to marry her. “She’s the one, Tito Boy. She’s the one,” Gerald proudly declared.
The TV personality directly asked Gerald, “If you have your way, would you ask Julia to marry you and why?”
Along with his desire was also his consideration for Julia, who was continuously building her career in the industry. “Opo, Tito Boy.
