Heart Evangelista reveals losing another baby

Global fashion influencer Heart Evangelista revealed that she was expecting to bear a baby girl but that her “one last egg did not make it.”

In a guest appearance with her husband, politician Chiz Escudero, on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Evangelista shared that they were expecting they could have a baby right before their renewal of vows while clarifying that she was not actually pregnant.

“I wasn’t pregnant, but I was expecting the only girl that I had left—eggs. At that time, I thought it was going to make it, but she didn’t, so that one was a bit hard for me,” she admitted.

The socialite was in tears as she recalled how she had prepared to have a child and already named her unborn daughter “Sophia Heart.”

“I was really preparing for her. I really thought that I was gonna have a baby at that time. I kind of felt that with everything that we went through, it was finally gonna happen, but it didn’t,” she said.

Despite the painful experience, the Kapuso actress affirmed that she is trying not to question why things happen the way they do.

“But it’s okay. I mean, I’m not the type to question anything. It’s just sad because I thought I was gonna be able to share what I do, with my last girl. It’s a little hard, but I’m not questioning anything,” she remarked.

Evangelista explained that she was not heartbroken because she’s a spoiled child who couldn’t get what she wanted, but because of the hard work it took for her to produce the egg.

Amid the challenge, the Filipina fashion icon underscored that she acknowledged how “blessed she is” in so many ways.

“I was very excited to have her, but I mean, I’m blessed in so many other ways, how can I complain? I’m just sad because I, of course, was excited, but I’m not complaining. I’m not the type to complain,” stated the model-actress.

Meanwhile, her husband, Escudero, believes that a “greater plan” awaits them after this loss.

“I’m predisposed to always accept God’s will. So, ‘yun ang sabi ko sa kaniya (that’s what I told her). If it’s not now, if it’s not this, may mas maganda pang nakaplano (something better is planned). Hintayin lang namin ‘yon (We just have to wait for that),” he said.
