South Korea: Air Busan Flight Carrying 169 People Catches Fi.re
A flight operated by Air Busan caught fire at Gimhae International Airport in Busan, South Korea, on January 28. According to Reuters, citing Yonhap News Agency, all 169 passengers and 7 crew members aboard the Air Busan flight were evacuated.
One person was injured in the incident.
The fire broke out at the rear of the aircraft. Firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze.
The accident occurred one month after a Jeju Air flight made an emergency belly landing at Muan Airport in South Korea, resulting in the deaths of 181 people on board.
Air Busan is a low-cost airline under Asiana Airlines. In December 2024, Korean Air completed its acquisition of Asiana Airlines.
