Claudine Barretto clarified that there has been no feud between her and her older sister Gretchen Barretto, explaining that her absence at the wedding of the latter’s daughter, Dominique Cojuangco, last March was due to a lock-in taping for a film.
Claudine said this in response to fan account @official_claudine on Instagram which expressed joy over the sisters’ supposed reconciliation.
“Finally—I’m so happy to see you guys hugging and kissing, reconcile. Praise God,” it commented on an Instagram photo of Claudine’s video call with Gretchen and their brother Joaquin.
“Thank you, sweetheart, pero hindi kami nagkaproblema or nag-away ng ate ko,” Claudine replied. “‘Di lang talaga kami nagkikita because nag-shooting ako ng ‘Loyalista.’”
(Thank you, sweetheart, but my sister and I did not quarrel. We were just not able to see each other because I was filming “Loyalista.”)
Another user @anch86 then asked Claudine why she did not attend Cojuangco’s wedding, to which the actress answered that she was in a lock-in shooting for the same movie.
Meanwhile, Claudine disclosed in a separate post that she has been preparing for a “new battle” in a few months, although the actress opted not to expound on it.
“As someone who is dealing with anxiety, every day is a battle you don’t know about. Lately, I’ve been a little bit down, probably because in the months ahead I’m preparing myself for a new battle,” she said.
“I just want to thank all of my Claudinians [and] even non-Claudinians, netizens who don’t know me but are kind and compassionate,” she added, also thanking Korean vlogger Stephanie Soo who inspires the actress through her contents.
Claudine gave an update on her health earlier this month and disclosed that she had been “sick and sad.” She also said that her condition was “contagious” at the time.
