Andrea Brillantes’ name has been tossed around much these days, most recently with her highly-publicized split with basketball player Ricci Rivero and her *supposed* involvement in the breakup of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
Whenever Andrea is embroiled in controversies, her friends come to her defense, most notably her best friend, Bea Borres, who is a YouTuber-actress and is part of the ABCD Girls composed of Andrea, her, Criza Taa, and Danica Ontengco.
In a recent interview with PUSH, Bea shared how “protective” she is of Andrea, whom she became close with after working together in Kadenang Ginto.
“Grabe, sobrang strong ng friendship namin ngayon, as in [parang] sisters talaga,” she spoke of her close friendship with the 20-year-old actress.
Bea also emphasized that she is quick to come to Andrea’s defense, even if they aren’t physically together IRL. “Alam ‘yan ng Brillants fans niya at alam ‘yan ng Twitter na grabe talaga kung i-protect ko si Andrea. As in pinoprotektahan ko talaga siya. Kahit sa personal.”
She recalled one instance where she was at a taping and Andrea’s name was dragged into gossip. Bea was quick to shut them down and defended her friend. “Naalala ko nag-taping ako tapos tinopic nila si Blythe, ang bata–bata pa raw parang she doesn’t act her age. Tapos sinasabi ko talaga, ‘Excuse me, that’s not her fault, society perceives her that way.’ Ginanun ko talaga, matanda sila ha,” she shared.
Bea also admitted that she is not afraid to get her hands dirty and reply to bashers, especially if they’re spreading misinformation.
“Medyo patolera pa rin pala ako. Like ano yan kaya lang ang pwedeng may mag-say, excuse me, ako rin. Dati kasi nagpapaapekto talaga ako, dati kasi nada-down ako. Ngayon, wala, basta nasabi ko na ‘yung gusto ko sabihin, bahala na kayo.”
She added: “Honestly, hindi ka mananalo sa mga bashers. Kahit anong sabihin mo, may sasabihin at sasabihin pa rin sila. Sa inyo na ‘yan, go. Basta ako, may gusto akong sabihin, sasabihin ko… I will keep my peace, basta nasabi ko ‘yung gusto ko.”
Bea notably came to Andrea’s defense during the latter’s breakup with Ricci. She got into a heated exchange with the basketball player on X (formerly Twitter), wherein she wrote, “lol hanggang hard launch nag mamalinis Imfao no.” She also tweeted, “TIME IS THE ULTIMATE TRUTH TELLER.”
Recently, Bea was hounded by netizens for mostly keeping mum when Andrea’s name was dragged into Kath and Daniel’s breakup. Replying to a commenter on TikTok, she said: “Mag-asaran tayo dito. Wala kayong makukuha sa ‘kin.”
She continued: “Noong ako salita nang salita, gusto niyong manahimik ako. Sasabihan niyo akong sawsawera. Tapos ngayong nananahimik ako, kung anu-ano pa ring sinasabi niyo.”
