Actor Kim Min Kyu set to enlist for mandatory service on April 1

On March 20 KST, Kim Min Kyu’s agency, Companion Company, announced his upcoming enlistment as an active-duty soldier through his official fan cafe.

The agency stated, “Actor Kim Min Kyu will commence his military service as an active-duty soldier on April 1. There will be no separate official event held on the day of his entry into the training center. We kindly ask for understanding as the admission will be conducted privately to ensure safety and prevent on-site congestion.”

They further expressed, “We deeply appreciate the love and support from fans, and we hope for Kim Min Kyu’s faithful fulfillment of his military duties, returning in a more mature and healthy state.

Kim Min Kyu made his debut in the 2013 tvN drama ‘Monstar‘ and has since appeared in various works including ‘Signal‘, ‘Because This is My First Life‘, ‘Perfume‘, ‘Queen: Love and War‘, ‘Backstreet Rookie‘, and ‘Snowdrop‘. Notably, his portrayal of Cha Sung Hoon, the chief of staff to Go Food CEO Kang Tae Moo, in the 2022 drama ‘Business Proposal‘ solidified his status as a next-generation star.

Before his enlistment, Kim Min Kyu plans to fulfill all his scheduled commitments.
