Julie Anne San Jose came to the defense of her boyfriend Rayver Cruz after he received backlash for his “hyperactive behavior” during their joint livestream garnered negative attention from netizens on social media.
Accompanied by Cruz in a 24 Oras Weekend interview on Sunday, March 17, San Jose clarified that she was preoccupied with preparations for the “All Out Sundays’” “Summerversary” segment, and she wasn’t feeling well during the stream.
The actress-singer said it’s “clear” what type of person Cruz is, and the accusations have no bearing on his personality.
“Ang dami kong iniisip tapos hindi pa maganda pakiramdam ko. Tapos na-stress talaga ako. Kung ano si Rayver talaga as a person, gan’un talaga siya (A lot of things were going through my head and I wasn’t feeling well. Then, I was really stressed at the time. What people could perceive Rayver as a person, that’s who he really is),” she said.
“Malinaw naman po na kung anong klaseng tao si Rayver, wala pong gan’un [na inaakusahan sa kanya] (It’s clear what kind of person Rayver is. There’s no such thing as the accusations thrown against him),” she further said.
Meanwhile, Cruz reiterated that he was “extra hyper” that day while saying sorry for his actions, echoing a post on his X (formerly Twitter) page last March 16
“Lahat ng nakakakilala sa’kin, gan’un talaga ako. Aaminin ko [na] gusto kong humingi ng pasensya sa mga nainis kasi extra hyper ako that day (Those who know me are aware that’s who I am. I admit that I want to say sorry to those who didn’t like my extra hyper behavior that day),” he said.
The celebrity couple are gearing up for the upcoming “Sparkle Goes To Canada” joint concert in Canada in April, which also includes Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, Ruru Madrid, and Bianca Umali.
