In an interview with 24 Oras on Thursday, April 4, the 31-year-old actress-model shared that he and Magno are looking to file for divorce soon.
“Because I’m an American citizen, I’ll divorce,” she said. “It’s not active as of now. But soon—we already talked about it, so that’s something we’re working on.”
Max stressed that she and Pancho are on good terms, adding that they have a healthy co-parenting setup for their son, Skye.
“We’re good, we’re great. It really works for us, it’s been very healthy, and we’re both happy and our son is very happy, so really it worked out for the best,” the My Guardian Alien star said.
Almost a year after confirming their split, Max said she’s open to dating, but shared that she no longer believes in marriage as the basis of loving someone.
“Ako, I don’t believe in marriage. No, I’m sorry, I don’t. I mean, I don’t personally. I believe in marriage for everyone else. I think for me, I feel like hindi ‘yun ‘yung basehan of what love means to be married, no,” she explained.
“You can still love each other and be together without being married,” she added.
“It’s really a commitment, so even if you are marrying each other, that doesn’t mean you’ll be together forever,” she concluded.
Max and Pancho tied the knot in 2017 after dating for four years. She confirmed their split in an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda in May 2023.
“We split up a long time ago, like, during the pandemic, and we didn’t talk about, I didn’t talk about it kasi syempre madami kaming pinagdaan as a family at that time. There was a pandemic, nanganak ako, my marriage was falling apart,” the local star shared, saying that they mutually agreed to deal with their breakup privately.
“Every separation naman is difficult, but it was amicable,” she said at the time.
“We have a very good co-parenting relationship. We’re the best of friends, actually. We’re closer now,” she added.
