Actor Byeon Woo-seok shared the process of his debut as an actor
On April 16th, a video featuring Byeon Woo-seok was uploaded on the YouTube channel “Hong Seok-cheon’s Top Gay Box”.
When asked “Did you think that you would succeed from the start?“, Byeon Woo-seok, who is establishing himself as a trending actor through works like “Record of Youth”, “20th Century Girl” and currently “Lovely Runner”, grabbed attention by replying, “I think I got eliminated about 100 times.”
He confessed, “I kept getting eliminated. I even wondered if this was right to keep getting eliminated. Actually, I think I’ve tried a lot. When I kept doing it, I started to pass and it was done one by one.”
Hong Seok-cheon commented, “Woo-seok is too kind. In this celebrity industry that’s like a vicious jungle, a kind person like Woo-seok can be easily hurt. In auditions too… ‘You’re only handsome, why is your acting like that?’ You might’ve heard this a lot when you first started.”
Byeon Woo-seok nodded and said “I have heard that a lot. ‘You won’t be good enough even after a few years.’ I’ve heard those a lot. Someone said, ‘You won’t succeed in four or five years.’ But my acting did kick off after that. That person did have a good eye“, showing a positive mindset.
