Onion preservation

How to preserve onions in pantyhose
Onions placed in pantyhose and hung in a well-ventilated place can be preserved for 8 months to a year.

Usually, onions can be preserved for three months if placed in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place and away from direct sunlight.

However, if stored in pantyhose, the shelf life can be significantly increased.

The tools needed are a pair of clean pantyhose and a pair of scissors. Use scissors to cut off the bottom of the pantyhose and tie a knot. Put onions in the pantyhose tube, tie a knot for each onion and then add another onion, in turn until the pantyhose is full. When the pantyhose is almost full, leave a space above to tie into a hanging string. This way, the onion strings can be hung neatly on a hook or anywhere in the kitchen area. Every time you use it, just untie the knot and take out the onions.

In fact, when onions come into direct contact with each other, it is likely to accelerate the rate of rotting. The above method not only helps isolate them but also provides a dry, well-ventilated environment with good moisture absorption for long-term preservation.
