The effect of putting ice in the clothes dryer
Ironing can be a daunting task in a busy life, but this trick using ice cubes can help you get rid of wrinkles effectively.
First, put the wrinkled clothes in the dryer. Next, add three to five ice cubes, depending on the weight of the clothes.
Once everything is in place, run the dryer as normal. As the dryer heats up, the ice cubes will melt and turn into steam. This steam interacts with the heat to help smooth out the wrinkles in the clothes, leaving them looking much smoother than before.
This trick is very effective, especially for cotton items and drying in small quantities.
If you don’t have ice cubes, there are alternative methods to achieve the same result. You can lightly spray water from a spray bottle onto the garment or put a wet washcloth in the dryer. Both of these methods work in a similar way to ice.
Despite its many advantages, this trick has some limitations. It’s not suitable for large loads or heavy, thick clothes like khakis and jeans. It can sometimes trigger the dryer’s moisture sensor, causing it to stop prematurely, so don’t add too much ice. And when the dryer stops, you may have to restart it to complete the process.
Despite these inconveniences, this trick is still a useful tool for quickly making some items look good.
