Cleaner Discovers Blood Seeping from Trash Bag, Opens It and Immediately Alerts Police

A recent incident in Thailand has left witnesses deeply shaken.

On Saturday, January 11, a sanitation worker at a dormitory in Bangkok experienced a horrifying moment while cleaning the premises. The incident occurred in the Lat Krabang district of Thailand's capital.

According to The Thaiger, Lieutenant Thirayu Wongsinghe of Charoen Noy Police Station was promptly informed about an unusual occurrence at the dormitory. The officer, along with officials from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, arrived at the scene and discovered the body of a newborn baby inside a plastic bag.

The cleaner recounted that on Friday, January 10, she had moved a black trash bag from the second floor to the base of the stairs, intending to dispose of it the next day. However, upon returning on January 11 to clean the dormitory, she noticed a liquid resembling blood seeping from the trash bag. When she opened it, she found the lifeless body of a newborn wrapped in a yellow bedsheet, with the umbilical cord still intact.

Further police investigations revealed that a 19-year-old girl residing on the second floor confessed to the incident. She admitted that at around 1 a.m. on January 11, she gave birth to a crying baby. After cleaning herself in the bathroom, she returned to find the baby had stopped crying and discovered the newborn had died.

Panicking, the young mother placed the baby’s body in a trash bag, as reported by KhaoSod. Police searched her room and found clothing she had worn during childbirth, washed and drying inside. The girl was subsequently taken in for questioning to continue the investigation.

While details of the case remain undisclosed, the incident has sparked renewed calls for improved education on safe sex and pregnancy prevention for young women to avoid such tragedies in the future.
