Newly purchased car caught fire on the highway

The driver said that the car had just been purchased at a store in Ben Tre province, Vietnam, and caught fire while on the way home.

On December 23, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 7, Department 6, Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) said that they are coordinating with relevant professional units of Tien Giang Provincial Police to investigate the cause of the car fire on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway.

At about 11:30, driver Vo Van Hung (49 years old, residing in Xuan Thoi Dong commune, Hoc Mon district, Ho Chi Minh City) drove a car with a license plate from Long An province on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway in the direction from the Western provinces to Ho Chi Minh City.

When reaching Tan Ly Tay commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province, the car suddenly caught fire from the front of the car.

Discovering the incident, Mr. Hung stopped the car in the emergency lane and got out of the car with his nephew to try to put out the fire but was unsuccessful.

The Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Tien Giang Province dispatched 2 fire trucks and many soldiers to the scene to rescue.

About 30 minutes later, the fire brigade extinguished the fire. The fire did not cause any casualties, but the car was severely damaged.

After working quickly with the police, the driver said that the car had just been purchased at a store in Ben Tre Province for 100 million VND, and caught fire while on the way home.

Tien Giang Province authorities are clarifying the cause of the fire.

According to initial information, at around 11:30 a.m. the same day, driver V.V.H (residing in Xuan Thoi Dong commune, Hoc Mon district, Ho Chi Minh City) was driving a car with a license plate of Long An province on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway in the direction from the Western provinces to Ho Chi Minh City.

Currently, the authorities of Tien Giang province are investigating the cause of the fire.
