3 Selfish Husband Habits That Increase Their Wife’s Risk of Cer.vical Can.cer – Quit Now Before It Harms the Whole Family
Some selfish and unhealthy habits from a husband can directly increase the risk of cervical cancer in their wife.
1. Frequently Smoking
Many men are addicted to smoking—some even finish a whole pack a day. They smoke when stressed, bored, or simply out of habit. However, this is a dangerous practice that can seriously harm their wife’s health.
Secondhand smoke exposure carries almost the same health risks as direct smoking. It has been proven to negatively affect a woman’s reproductive system, increasing the risk of breast cancer, cervical cancer, and premature birth. It also raises the likelihood of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, which can be life-threatening.
2. Refusing to Practice Safe Sex
One of the safest ways to protect a woman’s reproductive health is by using condoms. Research shows that this method can reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections by up to 98%. However, many men refuse to use condoms, claiming they are uncomfortable or lessen the sensation—leaving their wives exposed to unnecessary risks.
Some women instead rely on birth control pills, believing them to be a safe alternative. However, a study from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) found that long-term use of hormonal contraceptives can increase a woman’s risk of breast cancer by up to 38%.
According to the New England Journal of Medicine, women who take daily birth control pills, contraceptive injections, or implants for less than one year have a 9% higher risk of developing breast cancer. When used continuously for 10 years, that risk can climb to 38%.
3. Demanding Sex During Menstruation
Intimacy during a woman’s menstrual period can have serious consequences for her health, fertility, and overall well-being.
According to Dr. Tran Ly Hong (First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University), women should completely avoid sexual intercourse during menstruation. During this time, the cervical lining is more open and vulnerable to infections. Engaging in sex increases the risk of bacterial contamination, gynecological diseases, and if left untreated, can eventually lead to cervical cancer.
For this reason, during these sensitive days, women should firmly refuse if their husband or partner makes such requests, prioritizing their own health and safety.
