4 Simple Morning Drinks to Help Lower Blo.od Lipids

Using readily available ingredients like lemon, ginger, or green tea, you can create a simple morning beverage that helps control your body's cholesterol levels and effectively reduce blo.od lipids.

Our bodies require a small amount of cholesterol for proper functioning, but consuming too many fatty and sugary foods can lead to excess cholesterol, increasing the risk of high blo.od lipids and cardiovascular disease.

In addition to medication and regular exercise, changing your diet can be effective in managing high cholesterol. Morning is the best time to provide your body with a range of essential nutrients.

According to Dr. Pranav Ghody, an endocrinologist at Wockhardt Mumbai Central Hospital (India), in an interview with Hindustan Times, maintaining a healthy diet is crucial for overall health, and incorporating specific foods into your daily routine can help lower cholesterol levels.

Dr. Ghody suggests these affordable, delicious, and nutritious drinks to consume in the morning for effective cholesterol control and blo.od lipid reduction:

Green Tea
Well-known for its numerous health benefits, green tea is an excellent choice for those looking to manage their cholesterol levels. It is rich in antioxidants called catechins, which have anti-inflammatory properties that help prevent the absorption of cholesterol in the intestines, thereby reducing overall cholesterol levels.
Enjoy a steaming cup of green tea in the morning to kick-start your day while improving cholesterol levels and effectively reducing blo.od lipids.

Beetroot Juice
Beetroot is a nutrient-dense food containing betaine and nitrate, which are associated with lowering cholesterol levels, preventing high blo.od lipids, and improving cardiovascular health.
Foods rich in nitrates like beetroot also help dilate blo.od vessels, improve blo.od flow, and reduce blo.od pressure. Start your day with a fresh glass of beetroot juice to support your efforts in controlling cholesterol.

Ginger and Lemon Water
Kick off your day with a cup of warm lemon water with ginger to feel refreshed while balancing your cholesterol levels. Lemons are rich in vitamin C, which helps lower LDL cholesterol. Additionally, the soluble fiber in lemon peel helps reduce the absorption of cholesterol in the body.
Meanwhile, ginger has been shown to reduce total cholesterol, LDL, and neutral fat levels, making it a supportive ingredient for cardiovascular health and effective blo.od lipid reduction. Squeeze half a lemon into a cup of warm water, add a few slices of ginger, and enjoy the benefits of this simple yet effective drink.

Soy Milk
Soybeans contain little saturated fat and are effective in reducing cholesterol. For those at high risk of high blo.od lipids, replacing high-fat dairy milk with soy milk or unsweetened fresh milk can help lower or control blo.od cholesterol levels.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommends consuming 25 grams of protein from soy each day (approximately 250 ml of soy milk) as part of a diet low in saturated fats and cholesterol, which can help reduce bad cholesterol by 5-6%. When consuming, opt for pure soy milk and limit additional sugar, salt, or fats.
