Chapter 2: Changes in Urine That Deserve Attention
Urine can reveal a surprising amount about health. Temporary changes often occur because of hydration levels, medications, supplements, or certain foods. However, some changes may warrant medical attention.
One example is blood appearing in the urine. Even if it occurs only once, it should be evaluated by a healthcare professional. Persistent dark urine without an obvious explanation may also require investigation.
Frequent urination, particularly during the night, can sometimes indicate urinary tract issues, diabetes, or other medical conditions. Difficulty urinating, pain, or a burning sensation should never be ignored.
Foamy urine may occasionally occur for harmless reasons, but persistent excessive foam could indicate protein in the urine and should be discussed with a doctor. Similarly, a sudden and unexplained change in urine odor or appearance deserves attention if it continues for an extended period.
