A COUPLE with a 37-year age gap have hit back at trolls who mock them for wanting to have a baby of their own.

Groom Quran McCain, 24 years old, and bride Cheryl McGregor, 61 years old, from Georgia, USA got married on September 3, 2021 in a very cozy wedding. The couple live-streamed their wedding on TikTok and had hundreds of thousands of followers.

At the wedding, the 61-year-old bride wore a graceful white lace dress, holding a colorful bouquet of flowers, while the 9X groom wore a light brown vest. Quran McCain shared: "We held our wedding in Tennessee, USA. We invited our closest friends to attend and after the wedding, we had a delicious party."

Quran once shared that there were many reasons why he chose Cheryl as his wife. "She is beautiful, elegant, strong, noble, honest and compassionate. Cheryl was shocked because she didn't know I was going to propose but it made her feel special. I've never been married before but she is married, has children and grandchildren," the young man said.

The couple first met while working at a Dairy Queen in 2012. Cheryl's son Chris was Quran's manager, and she would come to Chris's workplace to check on him or go out to eat. Quran was only 15 at the time, so there was no romance.

"We didn't think much of each other, she drove a blue Carrera and that's the only reason I noticed her!" Quran said.

After that, Quran left his job and the two lost touch. It wasn't until November 4, 2020, that the couple met again, Quran went to the convenience store where Cheryl was working as a cashier. Quran said: "I used to see her every day, she was always happy, but that day she was sad and I asked her what was wrong, she cried."

Cheryl was upset because she posted a video of herself dancing on TikTok but received hateful comments, and Quran helped comfort her.

They kept in touch and even made a few dance videos together that went viral and garnered 1.3 million likes. The couple became closer and eventually started dating. Cheryl said: “I never thought he and I would end up together like this, he’s such an amazing person. Everything we’ve been through has brought us closer together.”

Quran McCain and Cheryl McGregor officially went public with their relationship in April 2021. The couple’s relationship progressed quickly and Quran proposed to his girlfriend, 37 years his senior, at a restaurant on July 31, 2021 with a $3,000 engagement ring.

Quran McCain said: "I was extremely nervous before I proposed to Cheryl. I tried my best to stay calm but I ended up crying as soon as we pulled into the parking lot." Although only three of Cheryl's seven children supported their mother's new relationship, Quran's family approved of the marriage. Quran McCain said: "My family supported my relationship because they knew Cheryl made me happy. My grandmother loved hearing about my life with Cheryl. She was only six years older than my wife and she hoped that she could find love like my wife."

Quran McCain said that marrying a man 37 years older than him caused him and his wife to receive many "disparaging" comments online. "We received a lot of positive and negative feedback. Many people thought I was using her for money. People can say what they want, we will still live a normal life."

According to Saostar, when their relationship blossomed, the couple really wanted to have children and considered options such as surrogacy and adoption. "Initially we hoped to conceive naturally, but due to our age, that was not likely to happen. We knew it might be a bit unusual, because Cheryl might not be with me for that long, but she believed that I would be a great father. Our family was very supportive of our decision," Quran said.
