An 8-year-old girl di.es from kid.ney can.cer, father breaks down in tears: “It’s all my fault!”
There is no parent who doesn’t love their child, but sometimes that love—when expressed the wrong way—can unknowingly push a child toward cancer.![]()
An 8-year-old girl named Le Le (China) passed away after only 30 days of hospitalization for kidney cancer. Her story is a heartbreaking warning about the dangers of an uncontrolled diet, especially for young children. It reminds all parents that loving a child means loving them the right way.
Le Le’s father was a pastry chef. Because he adored his daughter, from the time she was just two years old, he often brought home desserts from his bakery. Le Le grew up loving sweets—both pastries and sugary drinks. That affection, though full of love, unknowingly created a harmful habit that lasted six years.
By age 8, Le Le suddenly showed alarming symptoms: rapid weight loss and unexplained stomach pain. Her family rushed her to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with late-stage kidney cancer. Her liver and kidney function had already been severely damaged. After only 30 days of treatment, Le Le passed away. Her father held her body and cried out: “It’s all my fault!”
Doctors pointed out that the primary cause of Le Le’s illness was her long-term overconsumption of sugary foods. The excessive sugar placed overwhelming strain on her still-developing detoxification system.
Why does eating too much sugar cause kidney cancer?
Many people don’t realize that consuming too much sugar and refined grains not only leads to obesity but also places intense pressure on the kidneys:
-
Increased filtration pressure: Excess sugar forces the kidneys to work harder to filter the blood, and prolonged overload damages kidney function.
-
Accumulated burden: When too much sugar enters the body, it cannot be fully converted into energy. It instead builds up as visceral fat, causing obesity and problems like high blood pressure—major contributors to kidney damage and even cancer.
Kidney cancer is hard to detect but progresses rapidly
Doctors explained that kidney cancer is a malignant tumor that develops inside the kidney, with renal cell carcinoma being the most common type. While it typically develops in adults aged 40–70, children and young adults—like Le Le—can still be affected.
Early-stage kidney cancer often shows no obvious symptoms and may go unnoticed until the tumor becomes large or spreads. The three typical symptoms of kidney cancer are:
-
blood in the urine,
-
abdominal swelling, and
-
lower back pain.
By the time these signs appear, the disease is usually already advanced.
4 silent habits that damage your kidneys
To protect this vital organ, controlling sugar intake isn’t enough. Avoid these four common kidney-damaging habits:
-
Irregular or unhealthy eating habits: Limit foods high in purines (organ meats, seafood) and avoid excessive alcohol and smoking to prevent inflammation and kidney deterioration.
-
Holding in urine and drinking too little water: Frequently holding urine leads to urinary infections; dehydration increases waste concentration, promotes kidney stones, and weakens kidney function.
-
Self-medicating with drugs: Overusing or improperly using medications (antibiotics, chemical drugs, unregulated herbal remedies) can cause severe kidney damage.
-
Staying up late frequently: Lack of sleep prevents the kidneys from resting and repairing, causing long-term damage and weakening the immune system.
