Bela Padilla finds good chemistry working with Shaina Magdayao.
Kapamilya actress Bela Padilla had a memorable shooting experience with actress Shaina Magdayao in her brief appearance in the Kapamilya series Pamilya Sagrado.
On her social media page, Bela wrote an anecdote of how she and Shaina were able to express a rare chemistry and heartfelt emotions for their scene shot at the seashore.
"Before the tears. We asked each other how we wanted to do the scene. 'Are we gonna cry?' I jokingly asked.
We had been crying all day already and this scene that we had to shoot at sunset would've been our break from all the other crying scenes for the rest of the day.
'I already shot the scene leading up to this...
I cried a lot there,' Shaina replied.
We laughed and agreed we wouldn't cry," Bela recalled their conversation.
Bela played the role of Grace's (Shaina) sister, Cristine. They are both daughters of Joel Torre's character Estong, a fisherman.
Bela also shared how everything was all set and perfect for them to have a breather after hours of emotional drama scenes. "Director Law told us there would be a drone shot and solo shots for me and Shaina, as well as a master a mid shot of the two of us.
So our plan not to cry was perfect since we'd have to do the scene over and over," she shared. However, as the camera started rolling and their settings were seemingly in sync with the mood of their scene,
the two actresses couldn't help but give a deep and strong performance as sisters on the show, making the scene more sincere. "As soon as direk Law and direk Rico shouted action, and we locked eyes, I knew that my resolve not to cry was thrown out the window.
It's so rare to find a scene partner that is so in sync with you that you can't help but feel exactly what they're feeling.
For actors, this is us at our happiest state.
It's a euphoric feeling. So much so that everyone felt it too after and we were all smiling from ear to ear right after the scene,” Bela expressed.
The actress then promised to Shaina, "Thank you, Shaina for this gift ❤️ I will make sure we work together again, one day!
Shaina then replied in the comment section, “Magic of chemistry with you, my dear Krista ✨??
Thank you also for being so generous with your presence and emotions ….and your (unexpected) friendship ??.”
