Korean star Byeon Woo-seok performed the Lovely Runner soundtrack, "Sudden Shower," on the finale program of the MAMA Awards on Saturday, November 23.

Woo-seok, who portrayed the role of an idol named Ryu Sun-jae of fictional band ECLIPSE in Lovely Runner, seemingly turned into an idol himself during his performance in front of thousands of fans at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka.

"I’m truly thankful to the Lovely Runner team for helping me deliver a great song despite being an actor," Woo-seok remarked at the event as reported by Pinkvilla.

He also extended his gratitude to his fictional band members in the drama. "In Hyuk, Hyun Soo, Jae–our team won an award! This has been ECLIPSE," he stated.

Woo-seok also received the Favorite Global Trending Music Award for the song at the award's ceremony.

Meanwhile, Filipino-American singer Bruno Mars attended MAMA for the first time to perform the global hit song "APT." alongside Rosé. They also received the Global Sensation award for the track.

"I wrote a song based on my favorite drinking game and I had no idea that it would be loved this much. Thank you so much for all our love," Rosé said in her MAMA acceptance speech with Bruno as reported by Billboard.

BIGBANG also surprised the fans at the event with a reunion performance of its remaining members G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung.

The 2024 MAMA Awards were held at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on November 21 and also at the Kyoawea Dome in Osaka, Japan on November 22 to 23. K-Pop groups SEVENTEEN took home Artist of the Year while aespa bagged the Song of the Year award. 

The MAMA Awards, previously known as the Mnet Asian Music Awards, is a prominent annual music awards event organized by the entertainment company CJ ENM.
