Chelsea Manalo's elegant blue evening gown steals the show at Miss Universe 2024
The Philippines’ bet Chelsea Manalo rocked the preliminaries stage of the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in a Manny Halasan creation.
Manalo and 124 other aspirants paraded in the evening gown segment of this year's prestigious competition, held in the Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Nov. 15 (Philippine time).
The beauty queen from Bulacan wore a stunning blue ball gown that made her look like a real-life princess. She took advantage of her bouffant skirt by doing an elegant twirl.
Manalo shared a closer look at the gown on her Instagram account as she expressed her gratitude to Halasan for the dreamy dress.
"Living in the moment, living the dream," she wrote.
"Forever grateful to sir Manny Halasan for making me live this unforgettable moment, for being one of the many people who’s helped make my dreams come true," she added.
Manalo was also a head-turner in the other preliminary segments.
She wore a purple two-piece swimwear layered with a sheer gold cape, which she matched with high heels in metallic silver, during the swimsuit round and an extravagant attire that depicted the roots of Christianity and Islam in the Philippines for the national costume course.
The Miss Universe coronation night will be held on Nov. 17 (Philippine time). The live telecast of the event will be aired on ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, Metro Channel, and iWantTFC.
Manalo is vying for the Philippines’ fifth crown after Catriona Gray (2018), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran (1973), and Gloria Diaz (1969).
