The mountain was disappearing beneath a wall of snow.

A violent blizzard swept across the frozen peaks as Ethan Cole, a rescue soldier, and his K9 partner Rex moved carefully through the snow-covered mountain.

They had worked together for years.

Rex was more than Ethan's service dog.

He was his partner.

His closest friend.

Suddenly—

BOOM!

The mountain shook.

A massive avalanche thundered down the slope.

ETHAN:
“REX! RUN!”

Ethan pushed Rex toward safer ground.

The snow buried the trail within seconds.

When the rescue team finally reached the area, the storm was still raging.

One soldier shouted:

“We lost Ethan!”

Everyone searched the area.

But there was no sign of him.

Rex stood motionless in the snow.

He stared at the mountain.

Then he suddenly ran toward the avalanche zone.

A soldier grabbed his harness.

“Rex, stop! It's too dangerous!”

Rex pulled away.

He began sniffing the snow.

He knew something the others didn't.

Ethan was still alive.

The team followed Rex.

The dog moved rapidly across the avalanche field, stopping every few meters to search.

Suddenly, Rex began scratching at the snow.

The soldiers rushed toward him.

They dug through the snow.

Nothing.

Rex barked desperately and continued digging.

Then they heard it.

A faint sound beneath the snow.

“Help…”

Everyone froze.

Ethan was alive.

The rescue team began digging.

But another layer of snow shifted above them.

The commander shouted:

“Everyone back!”

Rex refused to move.

He stayed beside the spot where Ethan was trapped.

After several minutes, the team finally uncovered Ethan.

His face was pale.

His breathing was weak.

Rex immediately rushed toward him.

Ethan slowly opened his eyes.

He smiled.

ETHAN:
“You found me…”

Rex pressed his head against Ethan's chest.

Ethan reached out and touched his fur.

ETHAN:
“I knew you wouldn't leave me.”

The rescue team carried Ethan toward the helicopter.

Rex followed every step.

When Ethan was finally placed inside, Rex tried to climb in after him.

The medic smiled.

“Don't worry, buddy. He's going home.”

Rex sat beside the helicopter and watched Ethan being treated.

Hours later, Ethan woke up inside the medical tent.

The first thing he saw was Rex sleeping beside his bed.

Ethan smiled.

He slowly reached down and touched his partner's head.

Rex opened his eyes.

Their eyes met.

No words were needed.

They had survived the mountain together.

Again.
