Chapter 3: The Refrigerator Inspection
When healthcare specialists examined the refrigerator, they discovered several containers of food that had been stored for weeks. Some items showed signs of deterioration, while others had unclear preparation dates.
Among the contents were preserved ingredients that had been repeatedly thawed and refrigerated. Food safety experts explained that fluctuations in temperature can create conditions that allow harmful bacteria and molds to grow.
In addition, some traditional preserved foods may contain compounds that become problematic when storage conditions are poor. Although refrigeration slows spoilage, it does not completely eliminate the risk of contamination.
The inspection served as an important reminder that refrigerators are not permanent storage solutions. Many people assume that cold temperatures make food safe indefinitely, but this belief can lead to dangerous mistakes.
