On Saturday, Nov. 9, the actress, 53, attended the Wicked premiere in Los Angeles with a very special guest — her 15 year old son.

The duo were all smiles at the event, even wearing matching black outfits with dashes of white — Menzel in an all-black one-sleeved gown with fabric gathered at the shoulder that she teamed with a black-and-white purse, while Walker sported a black suit, black shirt and black-and-white sneakers.

The highly anticipated movie, directed by Menzel and Diggs met during the Broadway production of Rent in 1996, married in 2003 and divorced in 2013. The former couple remain on good terms and maintain a great co-parenting relationship.

"He’s great. He’s a teenager, but he still hugs me once in a while so I’ll take that," she teased at the time.

"What surprises me is just how mercurial it is, one minute they want nothing to do with you, and the next minute they really show you how much they need you," she she added. "You really have to be on your toes and be willing to get out of their way and out of your own way and not take things too personally. Know that they feel your love but they also need their space."

Menzel also opened up to  in 2021 about the transformative experience of parenthood.

"It was actually really liberating when I became a mom, because everything was so focused on the self," she said in August 2021. "And when you had these beautiful, little humans that you have to worry about, it teaches you priorities and perspective."
