L'Oreal recalls La Roche-Posay products suspected of containing cancer-causing chemicals

L'Oreal has decided to recall some products from the La Roche-Posay brand due to concerns that they may contain chemicals that could cause cancer. The recalled products are mainly sunscreen creams, particularly those containing octocrylene, a chemical commonly used in sunscreens to protect the skin from UV rays.

Recent studies have shown that octocrylene can break down into benzophenone, a compound that may be carcinogenic with long-term exposure. While health authorities have not yet issued an official recommendation about the risk of exposure to this chemical through cosmetics, the recall is a precautionary measure to protect consumers.

L'Oreal and La Roche-Posay have committed to recalling these products globally and have urged consumers to stop using these products immediately. The company also announced that it will work closely with regulatory agencies to recheck the ingredients in the products and ensure their safety in the future.

Consumers using these products are advised to check the product codes and stop using them if they are on the recall list.
