Actor Byeon Woo Seok has expressed his disappointment at being unable to attend the upcoming 2024 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards, scheduled for October 6. On October 3, his agency, Varo Entertainment, announced that the actor would miss the event due to a prior commitment that he could not rearrange. In a statement released through OSEN, Byeon Woo Seok conveyed his regret, stating that he would have loved to participate if his schedule had permitted.
However, circumstances have made it challenging for him to be present at this prestigious ceremony.
This year's awards ceremony is particularly notable as It has introduced the People's Choice Award, allowing fans to actively participate in recognizing their favourite actors in the OTT sector. Both Byeon Woo Seok and his co-star Kim Hye Yoon, affectionately dubbed the SolSun Couple from their popular drama "Lovely Runner, have emerged as top contenders for this coveted award, having tied for first place among the nominees. Unfortunately, it seems fate has conspired against them, as neither star will be in attendance at the ceremony. Kim Hye Yoon's team clarified that she has a prior filming commitment for another drama that could not be adjusted, making her attendance impossible.
The significance of this year's awards extends beyond the People's Choice Award, as both actors have also received nominations for individual accolades, Byeon Woo Seok is nominated for Best Newcomer Actor (Male), while Kim Hye Yoon is in the running for Best Lead Actor (Female).
