  • Use baking soda and hydrogen peroxide

Baking soda is commonly used in daily life. It can be used for cooking and cleaning. Baking soda is great for whitening and deodorizing. Meanwhile, hydrogen peroxide is powerful in removing dirt and whitening. It also helps effectively and safely kill mold spores compared to bleach.

To clean the grout between tiles, mix baking soda with hydrogen peroxide to form a paste. Use a brush to apply this mixture to the grout lines and let it sit for at least 5 minutes.

  • Use alcohol

Another substance that helps clean tile grout is alcohol. Simply mix alcohol and water in a 1:1 ratio. If you don't have alcohol, you can substitute it with vodka. Pour the solution into a spray bottle and spray it directly onto the areas that need cleaning. Let it sit for 15 minutes. Then, use a stiff brush to scrub the dirt and mold off.

Alcohol has the ability to kill mold and prevent it from returning. This is an effective and economical method. You can also replace alcohol or vodka with rice wine.

To prevent grout from discoloring and molding quickly, it’s important to clean it regularly. After using a squeegee, mop, or cloth to wipe off moisture, make sure to dry the area to prevent water from lingering and causing mold to form quickly.
