Mina addresses past controversies and conflict with Jimin in social media post

Former AOA member Mina took to her social media on October 22nd KST to address various controversies from her past, including her disputes with Jimin, issues surrounding her ex-boyfriend, and her hotel smoking incident.
Mina began her post by stating, “People are still talking about the cheating issue, so I’m addressing it.” She clarified the accusations regarding her ex-boyfriend’s alleged infidelity, explaining that she initially trusted his words, believing he had ended his relationship with his former girlfriend. However, after later learning the truth, she apologized to both the ex-girlfriend and her family.
Regarding the “nurse mistreatment” incident, Mina explained, “We met and talked it through, and I didn’t have her fired.” She also mentioned the hotel smoking incident, saying, “I mistakenly thought it was okay because I had checked into a smoking room. I apologized and paid the 300,000 KRW (approximately 215 USD) fine.”
Finally, Mina revisited the conflict with former AOA leader Jimin, which had led to her leaving the group. She said, “I did use harsh language towards her because I had suffered for 10 years. I had been hit, insulted, and treated poorly, but I couldn’t hold back my anger after I left the group.” Mina admitted that her behavior had gone too far, especially when she posted a photo of her self-harm online. “Looking back, I deeply regret that, especially knowing young fans were watching. I won’t bring these issues up again and will focus on moving forward.”
She concluded by saying, “I know there are many who dislike me, but for the few fans who support me, I will continue to live brightly and work hard.”
In 2012, Mina debuted as a member of the girl group AOA, rising to fame with hit songs such as “Like a Cat” and “Heart Attack.” However, she left the group in 2019. In 2020, Kwon made headlines when she publicly accused AOA’s leader, Jimin, of bullying her for 10 years during their time together in the group. This revelation caused a significant stir in the entertainment industry. Jimin, identified as the perpetrator, subsequently left AOA and announced her retirement from the entertainment industry later that same year.
In July 2022, Shin Jimin attempted a comeback, signing an exclusive contract with Alomalo Entertainment and releasing the album 'Boxes'. However, her return did not garner much attention, and by August 2023, she parted ways with the agency, concluding her brief return to the industry.
