Chapter 2: What Really Affects Your Ability to Read Hidden Text
Several factors can influence how easily someone sees hidden text within an illusion. Contrast sensitivity, color perception, focusing ability, and even fatigue can change what a person sees.
For example, some illusions rely on red and blue color combinations. People with certain types of color vision deficiencies may perceive the image differently. Similarly, individuals with excellent distance vision may still struggle with an illusion designed around contrast rather than sharpness.
Age can also play a role. As people grow older, natural changes in the eye can affect focusing ability and sensitivity to light. This does not necessarily mean a person has poor vision; it simply reflects normal biological changes.
Another important factor is digital display quality. A high-resolution screen may reveal details that are difficult to see on a smaller or lower-quality device. Because of these variables, the ability to read hidden words in a viral image provides little meaningful information about overall eye health.
