Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu were asked at the press conference of What's Wrong With Secretary Kim what was the most unusual thing they did for love.
Paulo answered while facing Kim, "Maybe it's Secretary Kim, because of my love for you as a colleague and everything you gave to Linlang, I'm here to give back to you, so I'm here in Secretary Kim to give back.
"I think, if it was offered to me and it wasn't Kim, I'd probably have second thoughts. It's because of Kim and Sir Deo."
Kim's statement, "Many, eh. I'm a very giving person, like when someone is left out or turned off or something, I always give as long as I can because I have nothing to lose if I give, e. It seems normal to you when love is there."
The presscon was held at Quantum Skyview in Gateway Mall, Cubao, Quezon City, on March 9, 2024. It was attended by invited showbiz press, bloggers, and fans of their team KimPau.
WHAT PAULO AND KIM ADMIRED ABOUT EACH OTHER
The two were also asked what qualities they like and admire in each other.
Paulo said since he moved to ABS-CBN, he wanted to work with Kim.
"I've always wanted to work with Kim, I wasn't given the opportunity until now, until the project we did last year," Paulo said, referring to the Prime Video series Linlang he and Kim collaborated on.
"I am happy not just because it seems, we know Kim is a star, but because she's so bubbly, she's matured as an actress. After working with her, I like working with people who work fast and know what they are doing.
βKim is like that, he moves quickly, he knows the script, he knows what to do. Nothing becomes a problem.
"Kim what I noticed, especially when I first worked with her, she sets the tone of the energy on the set.
"You see that when Kim is sad, not everyone is sad, but everything is gentle. When his energy is high, everyone is energized. Only now have I seen someone like that who can set the energy level of the set."
Kim praised his partner, "Paulo is very consistent at work, it seems like we share the same passion when it comes to work. 'Besides, we like the same thing. So it's surprising that I have a boy counterpart who is like, 'Let's do this, let's make it beautiful.'
"My low-batt version, I am the high-energy version. It's amazing to see a boy version of you which is him. It was a pleasure to work with one Paulo Avelino.
"It's more amazing because he accepted this romcom genre. So, I was more impressed with him as an actor because he can really do everything at his best.
"Then you will be really surprised by Secretary Kim, what he showed, you will be even more impressed with him. I'm happy to work with him.β
HOW ARE THEY DIFFERENT FROM THE ORIGINAL SERIES?
What's Wrong With Secretary Kim is the Filipino adaptation of the popular South Korean series with the same title and starring Park Seo-joon and Park Min-young.
What is the difference between this Filipino adaptation and the Korean version?
"Yes, we watched it, of course as we are proud Pinoys, our writers and everyone involved put a lot into making Secretary Kim.
"There are many Filipino touches, such as family oriented, more comedy side," the Kapamilya actress said.
"Actually when you watch him, side-by-side he's a bit the same but our story is more Filipino, most people can relate to it."
Paulo said, "I have watched a few parts, not the whole series because we were already doing the show. It was adapted to our culture. So if you watch the original, some parts that I watched, it was made for the culture of Korea.
"Here in the adaptation as Kim said, it was adapted to our culture, how we are, how we talk, and how things happen here in the Philippines."
KIMPAU SERIES NOW, MOVIE NEXT?
Due to the chemistry of their KimPau combination, many are also looking forward to when they will make a movie.
"As of now there is none, but if ever there's an opportunity to do a movie with Kim, of course, I'll be happy to do it and I'll be happy to collaborate or maybe co-produce it," assured the actor .
Kim replied, "Not yet, but it's possible. As long as the story is good, it can be done. But for now there is nothing, so this is What's Wrong With Secretary Kim first."
If so, what will be the concept or story of the movie they will make?
"Concept? Maybe siblings? Ha-ha-ha! No matter what the concept is, a way can be done," concluded Kim's statement.
