ILLIT's recording video - HYBE's controversial girl group is of interest to many Kpop fans.
Recently, ILLIT released a behind-the-scenes video of their debut EP Super Real Me. As HYBE's hottest rookie at the moment, ILLIT is famous but also has a bad reputation when they were suspected of plagiarizing their senior girl group NewJeans and were criticized for their skills.
Despite achieving record-breaking results for their debut product, ILLIT's reputation "hit rock bottom", especially when the group revealed a serious skill gap, 3/5 members were judged to be unable to sing live. Therefore, when the recording video was posted, many Kpop fans were extremely curious about the process of ILLIT and the music team creating the product.
Right from the beginning, people were excited by the image of the youngest Japanese member Iroha "with tears in her eyes". She burst into tears because the recording process was too difficult, constantly redoing it, making the producer soften his heart to comfort her.
At first listen, the E.P Super Real Me and the hit Magnetic by ILLIT have a youthful melody, the vocal treatment is also quite simple with short, not too complicated lyrics. But to create the necessary spirit, the ILLIT members have to follow the instructions of the music producer and vocal production team. For the rookie girls, this must be a tough challenge.
The most notable member is Moka. During the promotion of Magnetic, she was the most prominent factor thanks to her visuals that fit the concept, bright stage presence, and positive energy. Moka quickly became the most attractive piece of ILLIT, extremely famous with international followers.
However, the public's goodwill suddenly disappeared when Moka continuously caused controversy when singing live through encore stages. Her immature, shaky voice that had not been properly trained caused Moka to be severely criticized. Along with LE SSERAFIM's Sakura, Moka was called HYBE's "vocal hole".
In the studio, Moka also revealed her limited abilities. She was quite awkward with her singing lines. Moka's thin, weak voice was processed in the audio product. But even behind the scenes, it was not difficult to notice the rookie's lack of confidence. Because she just debuted, Moka still has many opportunities to improve her skills. Fans hope that the Japanese female idol will practice harder in the future.
The two members with the most stable abilities are Minju and leader Yunah. Minju is the one who "carries" the vocals for the group. Her natural voice and training time at YG helped Minju have a stable foundation of skills. During the recording process, Minju and Yunah gave their opinions to help the music team clarify the girls' wishes. In addition, Wonhee, despite only having a training period of 1 month, easily completed the recording. The female idol is considered to be suitable for ILLIT's concept and musical direction.
