Quick air fryer cleaning tips

Cleaning an air fryer can be challenging for many users. Here are some tips on how to clean your air fryer without scrubbing, while still keeping it spotless.

An air fryer is a great helper for home cooks. However, during use, burnt residue can sometimes make cleaning difficult.

If cleaned improperly, the non-stick coating can peel off, damaging the fryer basket. Follow the guide below to learn how to clean your air fryer without the need for scrubbing.

1. Cleaning the Air Fryer Basket

The air fryer basket is one of the hardest parts to clean, and improper cleaning can result in peeling of the non-stick coating or leave residue that causes odors and damages the fryer over time. Here are some steps to properly clean the basket:

Step 1: After cooking, transfer the food to a plate and allow the air fryer to cool completely.

Step 2: Fill one-third of the air fryer basket with clean water, add a few drops of dish soap, and stir gently to create foam.

Step 3: Plug in the air fryer and set it to 180°C for 5 minutes. This will loosen any stuck-on residue. Note: Be sure to dry your hands before plugging in the air fryer.

After 5 minutes, unplug the fryer, pour out the water, and gently wipe the basket with a dry cloth to complete the cleaning.

2. Cleaning the Air Fryer Exterior

Even though it's just the exterior, it still requires proper cleaning to maintain the longevity of the air fryer. Follow these steps to clean the outside:

Step 1: Unplug the air fryer to ensure there’s no power source to avoid electric shock during cleaning.

Step 2: Use a soft, damp cloth with a mild cleaner like dish soap or kitchen cleaner to wipe the exterior of the air fryer. This will help keep it clean and extend its lifespan.
