A woman plunged eight stories from an apartment building in Sydney's CBD (pictured)

Officers established a crime scene and a spokesperson from NSW Police told Daily Mail Australia the incident is believed to be a case of self-harm
Residents at the back of the 22-storey apartment block overlooked the grisly scene, with clothing seen strewn over the footpath.
'I've lived here for three years but I don't know who the woman was,' one witness said.
'It's always been a quiet apartment. We didn't hear any disturbances beforehand.'
Another resident said: 'We saw a pair of shoes lying in the lane and she was apparently wearing a bathrobe when she fell.'
Police cordoned off the block with tape and officers were seen letting residents who live in nearby buildings through one at a time.
Several officers were seen guarding the front and rear entrance to the building
