When Your Parent Shows These 4 Signs, Emotional Preparation Matters
What seemed like an ordinary boiled chicken egg ended up shocking social media after something completely unexpected was found inside.
For most people, boiling an egg is a simple, routine task with no surprises. But recently, a girl in China experienced a rare moment when she peeled a boiled egg and discovered something unusual hidden inside.
She shared photos on Xiaohongshu, writing: “What is going on? There was a small egg inside the egg I peeled. I didn’t expect the tiny egg to even have its own yolk. This is the first time I’ve ever seen something like this.”
Inside the egg white of the regular boiled egg was a perfectly formed miniature egg — complete with both egg white and yolk.
The post quickly drew attention online, with many users expressing surprise and amusement. Some joked about it, while others were simply confused about how such a thing could happen.
According to explanations shared online, this rare phenomenon is known as an “egg within an egg.” It occurs when a nearly formed egg is pushed back into the hen’s oviduct, where it becomes enclosed around another developing yolk. Both are then covered by a single shell, resulting in one egg forming inside another.
Although unusual, this biological glitch has been documented before. Despite its strange appearance, the egg is still safe to eat and does not affect food quality or safety.
For those lucky enough to encounter it, it’s certainly a one-of-a-kind experience.
