Spicy Shrimp Plate with Stir-fried Broccoli & Mushrooms + Mango Smoothie


1. Spicy Shrimp with Rice

Ingredients

For the shrimp:

  • 350–400 g large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1–2 fresh red chilies, sliced

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1–2 tbsp water (to loosen the sauce)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Chopped green onions for garnish

  • Optional: small cubes of tofu (as seen in the picture)

For the rice:

  • 1 cup cooked jasmine rice

  • Black sesame seeds for garnish


Instructions

  1. Prep the shrimp:
    Pat the shrimp dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.

  2. Sauté the aromatics:
    Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, sauté until fragrant.

  3. Cook the shrimp:
    Add shrimp to the pan and stir-fry until they turn pink on both sides.

  4. Add seasoning:
    Add paprika, chili powder, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sliced chilies, and 1–2 tbsp water.
    Stir well so the sauce coats the shrimp evenly.

  5. Optional tofu:
    Add cubed tofu and let it simmer for 1–2 minutes so it absorbs the sauce.

  6. Finish:
    Taste and adjust salt or chili. Remove from heat and sprinkle green onions on top.

  7. Serve:
    Place cooked rice on a plate, garnish with sesame seeds, and spoon the spicy shrimp all around.


2. Stir-fried Broccoli and Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 250 g broccoli florets

  • 150 g shiitake mushrooms or any mixed mushrooms, sliced

  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • ½ tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Blanch broccoli in hot water for 1 minute, drain and set aside.

  2. Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and sauté until fragrant.

  3. Add mushrooms and stir-fry until soft.

  4. Add broccoli back to the pan.

  5. Season with oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.

  6. Stir well for 1–2 minutes and serve warm.


3. Mango Smoothie (or Mango Soy Blend)

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and chopped

  • 200 ml milk or unsweetened soy milk

  • 1–2 tsp honey (optional)

  • A few ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Add mango, milk (or soy milk), and honey into a blender.

  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  3. Pour into a glass and serve chilled.
