Stir-Fried Broccoli with Mushrooms
Ingredients

250 g broccoli florets
-
200 g mushrooms (shiitake or king oyster), sliced
-
3–4 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 tbsp cooking oil
-
1 tbsp oyster sauce
-
1 tsp soy sauce
-
½ tsp sesame oil
-
¼ cup water or vegetable broth
-
Salt & pepper, to taste
Instructions

1. Prep the vegetables
-
Wash and cut broccoli into bite-size florets.

Slice mushrooms evenly.
2. Blanch the broccoli
-
Bring a small pot of water to a boil.
-
Add broccoli and blanch for 1 minute.
-
Drain and set aside.
This keeps the broccoli green and crunchy.
3. Stir-fry the aromatics
-
Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 20–30 seconds).
4. Cook the mushrooms
-
Add sliced mushrooms into the pan.
-
Stir-fry until they soften and release moisture (2–3 minutes).
5. Add the broccoli + seasoning
-
Add the blanched broccoli.
-
Pour in oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and water/broth.

Mix well so the sauce coats all the vegetables.
6. Simmer briefly
-
Let it cook for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Serve
-
Transfer to a plate and enjoy while warm.

Great as a side dish or combined with rice/noodles.
