The Amazing Trick of Using Urgo on a Fan in Hot Weather That Many People Don't Know
The Benefits of Putting Urgo on a Fan
Medical adhesive bandages (commonly known as Urgo) are a common item found in most household medicine cabinets. Their primary use is for dressing small open wounds. However, you can also use Urgo for other purposes, one of which is surprisingly effective in hot weather.

All you need are a few pieces of Urgo and some essential oils or mentholated oil. If using essential oils, opt for those with a strong scent, such as lemongrass or peppermint oil. If you don't have essential oils, mentholated oil is a great, inexpensive alternative.

Peel the Urgo bandage, drop a few drops of essential oil onto the cotton part in the middle of the bandage, and then stick it onto the front of the fan's grill.
If you're worried about the fan's wind blowing the Urgo off, you can also place it on the back of the fan grill.
By following this method, the essential oil will be dispersed around the room by the fan's breeze. The scent will create a refreshing atmosphere, make the air feel cleaner, and help you relax. Additionally, it works as a natural mosquito repellent, keeping insects away effectively.
Other Tips for Using a Fan
You can prepare a basin of water with a few drops of mentholated oil or essential oil. Soak a towel in this water for a few minutes, then wring it out. Place the towel inside a plastic bag and tie it up. Put this bag in the freezer for about 20 minutes. Afterward, remove the towel and place it on the fan's grill.
The cold air blowing onto the towel will make the surrounding air cooler. The essential oils will also help purify the air, making it fresher and more pleasant, while also acting as a mosquito repellent.
On extremely hot days when there’s no air conditioning, you can use this method to cool the air. Prepare a bowl of ice and place it right in front of the fan. The breeze will blow over the ice, rapidly lowering the room temperature and making the environment cooler than just using a regular fan. The evaporation from the ice will also increase the humidity in the air, creating a more comfortable atmosphere during hot weather.
If you don’t have ice, simply placing a bowl of cold water in front of the fan will also work effectively.
