"Why?"

"Because you helped me."

"You didn't have to."

"I know."

She smiled.

"I wanted to."

Kai nodded.

"Thanks."

Jenny didn't leave.

Kai continued working.

Eventually he looked up.

"Are you waiting for something?"

"No."

"Then why are you still here?"

Jenny stared at him.

"You really don't know how to entertain a woman."

"I'm working."

"Exactly."

She rolled her eyes.

But she stayed.

And somehow, that became a habit.

Jenny started appearing at the workshop.

She brought coffee.

She brought food.

She complained about the noise.

She complained about the smell.

She complained about the chair.

Kai simply laughed at her.

He never treated her like a princess.

And strangely, Jenny liked that.

One afternoon, Jenny watched Kai help a teenage rider repair his motorcycle.

The boy looked embarrassed.

"I can't pay you."

Kai tightened the final bolt.

"Then pay me next time."

"What if I don't come back?"

Kai shrugged.

"Then don't."

The boy smiled and rode away.

Jenny crossed her arms.

"You're terrible at business."

Kai smiled.

"Probably."

"You give everything away."

"Not everything."

Jenny raised an eyebrow.

"What do you charge?"

"Depends."

"On?"

"Whether I like the person."

Jenny smiled.

"So you charge me double?"

Kai looked at her.

"No."

"Why?"

"I like you."

Kai said it casually.

Jenny froze for half a second.

Then she looked away.

"That's unfortunate."

Kai laughed.

Jenny smiled despite herself.

She hated that.

Then came the night Jenny's car broke down.

It was raining harder than usual.

She had been driving home alone when her luxury sedan suddenly stopped on a deserted road.

Jenny tried the engine.

Nothing.

Again.

Nothing.

She stared at the dashboard.

"You have got to be kidding me."

She called roadside assistance.

Thirty minutes.

No one came.

Then she heard a familiar motorcycle engine.

A matte-black motorcycle appeared through the rain.

Kai stopped beside her.

He removed his helmet.
