TOO POOR FOR HER ?
“A poor guy like you wants to pursue me?”

William Harrington was the chairman of Harrington Group, a corporation worth more than 20 billion dollars.
He had three biological children: Andrew, Lucas, and Sophia.
And one adopted son: Ethan.
To the family, Ethan was just an orphan William had brought home from a shelter when he was ten.
No blood relation.
No inheritance rights.
No one believed he could ever touch the corporation.
When William suffered a stroke, the war began.
Andrew secretly bought the loyalty of major shareholders.
Lucas tried to seize control of the board.
Sophia hired her own lawyers to prepare for an inheritance battle.
Meanwhile, Ethan spent every night at the hospital, feeding William his medicine with his own hands.
One night, William held Ethan’s hand and asked:
William: “Do you know why I never gave you any shares?”
Ethan: “Because I’m not your real son.”
William slowly shook his head.
William: “Because I was afraid that day would make you a target.”
Before Ethan could ask anything else, William collapsed.
It was the last real conversation they ever had.
Three weeks later, William died.
On the day the will was announced, the entire executive board, major shareholders, and corporate legal team were present.
As Ethan entered the boardroom, he heard Andrew laugh loudly.
Andrew: “Don’t worry, Ethan. Father probably left you a small apartment.”
Lucas smirked.
Lucas: “Or a touching allowance for taking care of him.”
Sophia added coldly:
Sophia: “At least know your place.”
Ethan said nothing and sat at the far end of the table.
The lawyer opened the first envelope.
Lawyer: “Thirty percent of Harrington Group shares to Andrew Harrington.”
Andrew smiled confidently.
Lawyer: “Nineteen percent to Lucas Harrington.”
Lucas nodded.
Lawyer: “And one percent to Sophia Harrington.”
Sophia froze.
Sophia: “Only one percent?”
Andrew laughed.
Andrew: “Looks like Father knew who deserved it.”
The tension in the room grew.
The lawyer picked up the final envelope.
Everyone held their breath.
Lawyer: “The remaining fifty percent of shares goes to…”
He paused for several seconds.
Lawyer: “…Ethan Harrington.”
The room exploded.
Andrew: “Impossible!”
Lucas: “That’s forged!”
Sophia: “He’s not even family!”
Several shareholders stood up at once.
Whispers filled the room.

Andrew slammed his fist on the table.
Andrew: “I demand a legal verification of this will!”
Lucas immediately produced a stack of documents.
Lucas: “We have evidence that Ethan was alone with Father during his final days. He could have manipulated him.”
For the first time, every eye turned to Ethan.
He had become the center of suspicion.
Sophia stared at him with contempt.
Sophia: “So this is who you really are.”
At that moment, the lawyer raised his hand.
Lawyer: “Chairman William Harrington anticipated this.”
He placed a USB drive on the table.
The giant screen in the boardroom lit up.
William appeared on the screen, weak from illness, but with sharp, unwavering eyes.
The room fell completely silent.
The Secret Video
William (on screen):
“Andrew, Lucas, Sophia… if you are challenging my will, then you have already done exactly what I feared most.”
Andrew’s face turned pale.
William continued:
“I had all three of you investigated for the last six months.”
The screen switched to a series of documents:
Andrew transferring money to shareholders.
Lucas secretly selling confidential corporate information.
Sophia preparing to sue her own father before his death.
Murmurs erupted across the room.
Andrew shouted:
Andrew: “This is fabricated!”
William looked directly into the camera.
“Ethan is the only one who never asked me for shares.”
“The night I was hospitalized, Andrew asked whether I could still sign documents.”
“Lucas asked who would replace me.”
“Sophia asked where the lawyers were.”
William paused.
“Only Ethan asked: Are you still in pain, Father?”
Sophia burst into tears.
Lucas lowered his head.
Andrew kept shouting:
Andrew: “He manipulated you!”
William smiled sadly.
“And there is one final truth.”
The entire room held its breath.
“Ethan is not adopted.”
Dead silence.
William continued:
“Ethan is the biological son of my younger brother. After the accident years ago, I took him in to protect him from the family inheritance war.”
A sharp gasp spread through the room.
Andrew staggered backward.
Sophia covered her mouth.
Lucas could not speak.
The video ended with William’s final words:
“I am not giving this corporation to the one who shares my blood.”
“I am giving it to the one who deserves the Harrington name.”
The screen went dark.
Absolute silence filled the boardroom.
Ethan slowly stood up.
He looked at his siblings, then at the shareholders.
Ethan: “I didn’t come here to defeat anyone.”
He placed his hand on the chairman’s chair.
Ethan: “But I will not allow the corporation my father built to be destroyed by greed.”
One senior shareholder stood first.
Then another.
Then the entire room rose to its feet.
The chairman of the board bowed his head.
“Welcome, Chairman Ethan Harrington.”
Andrew stood frozen.
Lucas closed his eyes in defeat.
Sophia wept openly.
And Ethan, the man once called an outsider, finally took the most powerful seat in the corporation.
