The Face Stolen

A Love Hidden Behind Another Face

THE EMPRESS — FRANKA MARLENE FOTH
Elena and Lydia were twin sisters born into a wealthy noble family. They shared the same beautiful face, but their hearts could not have been more different.

Elena, the older sister, was kind, gentle, and loved by everyone around her. She always put others before herself and believed that kindness was the greatest beauty a person could have.

Lydia, however, spent her entire life living in Elena’s shadow.

Whenever people praised Elena, Lydia heard only one thing:

"You will never be as good as your sister."

She hated that Elena always seemed to have everything she wanted.

Until one day, Elena met Alexander.

Alexander was the heir of a powerful family. Unlike other noble men who cared about status and wealth, he was drawn to Elena’s warmth and compassion.

They met by chance when Elena helped an injured child on the street. Alexander was fascinated by the way she smiled at people who could give her nothing in return.

For him, Elena was not just the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

She was the first person who made him believe in true love.

Soon, their relationship became known throughout the kingdom.

And Lydia watched everything from the shadows.

The man she secretly loved was falling deeper in love with her sister.

One evening, Lydia finally confronted Elena.

Lydia:
"Why does everything belong to you? Everyone loves you. Everyone chooses you. Even the man I love belongs to you."

Elena:
"Lydia, Alexander doesn't love me because of my face. He loves the person I am."

Lydia smiled bitterly.

Lydia:
"Then I'll become you. If your face is the reason he loves you, I'll take that away too."

Elena looked at her sister in disbelief.

She never imagined those words would become a nightmare.

A few days before Elena’s wedding, Lydia asked her sister to meet at an abandoned cliff outside the city.

She pretended she wanted to apologize.

She cried and said she was tired of fighting.

But deep inside, jealousy had already consumed her.

During their argument, Lydia pushed Elena.

For a moment, everything stopped.

Elena fell down the cliff.

Lydia stood there, frozen.

She waited for Elena to disappear forever.

But fate gave Elena another chance.

She survived.

However, the accident left severe scars on her face.

Meanwhile, Lydia realized she had destroyed her sister’s life.

But instead of regretting it, she saw an opportunity.

She disappeared for months and found a famous surgeon who could rebuild her face.

When she returned, she looked exactly like Elena.

Same eyes.

Same smile.

Same beauty.

Everyone believed Elena had come back.

Even Alexander.

The wedding day arrived.

Alexander stood at the altar, waiting for his bride.

When Lydia walked toward him wearing Elena’s face, everyone smiled.

But Alexander felt something was wrong.

Her face was familiar…

Yet his heart felt distant.

After their marriage, Alexander began noticing strange changes.

The woman beside him looked exactly like Elena, but she no longer acted like her.

Elena loved white roses.

The new "Elena" hated them.

Elena loved riding horses.

The new "Elena" was terrified of them.

Elena always touched her necklace three times whenever she was nervous.

The new "Elena" never did.

One night, Alexander asked quietly:

Alexander:
"Do you remember the first thing you told me when we met?"

Lydia smiled nervously.

Lydia:
"You said you loved me."

Alexander's expression changed.

Because that was not what Elena had said.

The first thing Elena told him was:

"Everyone deserves kindness, even when no one is watching."

That was the moment he knew.

The woman beside him was not Elena.

Alexander secretly investigated and discovered the horrifying truth.

The accident.

The surgery.

The stolen identity.

His wife had stolen Elena’s face.

But she could never steal Elena’s heart.

Desperate, Alexander searched for the real Elena.

Months later, he found her living quietly in a small village.

She turned away when she saw him.

Elena:
"Don't look at me. I'm not the woman you remember anymore."

Alexander walked closer.

Alexander:
"I wasn't searching for your face."

Elena:
(tears falling)
"Then what were you searching for?"

Alexander:
"The woman who saved my heart."

When Lydia was finally exposed, she broke down.

Lydia:
"Do you know what it's like to spend your whole life being invisible? I didn't want her face... I wanted the love that came with it."

Elena looked at her sister with sadness.

Elena:
"You wanted my life, but you destroyed the one thing that made it beautiful."

In the end, Alexander chose Elena.

Not because of her beauty.

Not because of her past.

But because she was the only person who had ever loved him without wanting anything in return.

He held her hand and whispered:

Alexander:
"The world may see your scars. But I see the woman I fell in love with."

And Lydia finally learned the cruelest truth:

You can steal someone's face.

You can steal their name.

But you can never steal a love that was built on a true heart.
