"Na dobre i na złe", odc. 895. Śmierć i ciąża. Co się wydarzy? [STRESZCZENIE]
The military hospital was unusually quiet that evening.

Rain tapped softly against the windows as nurses moved through the dim corridors.

Sergeant Ethan Walker lay in a hospital bed, his left arm wrapped in bandages after a dangerous rescue mission.

He hated hospitals.

But he did not hate the woman who came to change his bandages every night.

Her name was Emma Carter.

At first, their conversations were simple.

“Does it hurt?”

“Only when I try to move.”

“Then stop trying to be a hero for one day.”

Ethan laughed for the first time since the mission.

Emma smiled.

And somehow, the room felt less lonely.

Days turned into weeks.

Emma brought him coffee when he could finally sit up.

Ethan waited for the sound of her footsteps in the hallway.

They talked about books, music, and the places they wanted to visit someday.

Whenever Emma laughed, Ethan forgot the pain in his shoulder.

Whenever Ethan looked at her, he forgot he was supposed to be strong.

One night, Emma finished changing his bandage and noticed he was unusually quiet.

“What are you thinking about?”

Ethan hesitated.

“That I’m going to miss this.”

Emma looked at him, surprised.

“The hospital?”

Ethan smiled faintly.

“No. You.”

Emma’s cheeks turned red, but she said nothing.

And Ethan, despite everything he had faced in combat, did not dare say more.

A month later, Ethan was discharged.

The next morning, new orders arrived.

A dangerous mission in the northern mountains.

Departure at dawn.

He stared at the paper for a long time.

Then he folded it and slipped it into his pocket.

He decided not to tell Emma.

If he left quietly, maybe it would hurt less.

Before sunrise, the military train waited at the station.

Soldiers were boarding quickly.

Ethan climbed the steps of the last carriage.

He looked once at the empty platform.

No Emma.

He lowered his eyes and turned away.

Then he heard someone calling his name.

“Ethan!”

He froze.

Emma was running through the crowd, her white coat fluttering behind her, breathing hard.

She stopped in front of him, eyes shining with anger and tears.

“Were you really going to leave like this?”

Ethan looked down.

“I didn’t want to make it harder for you.”

Emma shook her head.

“You don’t get to decide that for me.”

The whistle blew.

The train began to tremble.

Ethan’s voice was low.

“This mission is dangerous, Emma.”

“I know.”

“I might not come back.”

Emma stepped closer.

“And I might regret it for the rest of my life if I let you go without telling you the truth.”

Ethan looked at her, stunned.

Emma’s hands were shaking.

“From the first night I treated your wounds, I started caring about you.”

Her voice broke.

“And every day after that, I cared a little more.”

Ethan could hardly breathe.

For months he had hidden the same feeling.

He reached for her hand.

“Emma… I’ve been trying not to fall in love with you.”

A tear slipped down her cheek.

“Did it work?”

Ethan smiled softly.

“Not even a little.”

The final whistle sounded.

Around them, soldiers were already on board.

But for a moment, the entire station seemed to disappear.

Ethan gently touched her face.

“If I come back…”

Emma interrupted him.

“When you come back.”

He laughed quietly.

Then, for the first time, he kissed her.

Not hurried.

Not dramatic.

Just honest.

The train began to move.

Ethan stepped onto the carriage but kept holding her hand until the last possible second.

Emma whispered:

“Come back to me.”

Ethan looked at her through the morning light.

“Now I have a reason to.”

As the train disappeared into the dawn, Emma stood on the platform holding the bandage clip she had forgotten to return.

And for the first time, neither of them had left their feelings unspoken.
