THE MAN IN THE UNIFORM

The marble floors of Whitmore Industries' headquarters were spotless.

Every morning, executives walked through the enormous glass lobby in expensive suits, speaking into phones, carrying leather briefcases, and rushing toward private elevators.

Almost nobody noticed the man quietly cleaning the floor.

His name tag read:

D. OKONKWO.

David Okonkwo wore a dark navy janitor uniform.

A mop rested in his hands.

Beside him stood a professional cleaning cart.

To everyone walking through the lobby, he was just another employee.

But nobody knew why David Okonkwo was really there.

Richard Whitmore entered the building surrounded by several executives.

He was one of the most powerful men in the company.

Tall. Confident. Expensively dressed.

And accustomed to everyone moving out of his way.

As he walked across the lobby, David accidentally looked up.

For a brief moment, their eyes met.

Richard stopped.

He looked at David's uniform.

Then at the mop.

His expression hardened.

RICHARD:
"Watch where you're standing."

David lowered his eyes.

DAVID:
"Of course."

Richard shook his head and continued walking.

One of the executives following him glanced back at David.

But David didn't react.

He simply continued mopping the floor.

That evening, David returned home to a quiet luxury apartment overlooking the city.

He removed the janitor uniform.

On the table beside him was a folder containing the future of Whitmore Industries.

David opened it.

Inside was a list of names.

Executive performance reports.

Employee complaints.

Confidential evaluations.

And at the top of one particular report was a familiar name.

RICHARD WHITMORE.

David looked at the document silently.

Then he closed the folder.

The following morning, David returned to the same lobby.

Same uniform.

Same mop.

Same cleaning cart.

Richard entered with several executives.

But this time, David was standing directly in front of the private executive elevator.

Richard immediately stopped.

His face tightened.

RICHARD:
"Move."

David remained where he was.

Richard pointed toward the public elevators.
