Chapter 1: A Picture Like Any Other
Family photographs often capture moments we never think twice about. They freeze birthdays, holidays, and ordinary evenings into memories that can be revisited years later. For one family, a photograph taken in their living room seemed no different.
The picture showed a father standing proudly behind his children. Everyone appeared happy. The room was filled with familiar details—family portraits on the shelves, warm lighting, and the comforting signs of everyday life.
