At the beginning of October, Nurul Syazwani took to social media to share that her husband, who had been paralyzed due to a car accident and whom she had cared for over the past six years, had recovered and remarried.
For many years, Nurul Syazwani’s story of caring for her bedridden husband following a traffic accident touched many people's hearts.
Videos documenting Nurul’s daily life as she cared for her husband attracted 32,000 followers on social media. In these videos, she is seen feeding him through a gastric tube, changing his diapers, and bathing him. She also helped him with physical rehabilitation exercises every day and cleared his throat of phlegm to help him breathe easier. Family members would also assist Nurul in caring for him, giving her time to rest.

Nurul took her children to visit her husband after the accident.
However, in a Facebook post in early October, Nurul revealed that her husband had recovered and divorced her to marry another woman.
"Congratulations to my husband. I hope you will be happy with the one you have chosen. Aifa Aizam, please take care of him as well as I did. I have fulfilled my duty to him, now it's your turn," Nurul wrote. The post was later deleted.
Nevertheless, the story quickly spread across Malaysian social media, sparking outrage, with many calling the man ungrateful. But Nurul stated that both she and her ex-husband had fulfilled their roles in the marriage. "Fate, wealth, life, and death are all in God's hands. God decided our relationship should end," she said.
Nurul asked people not to be angry and to stop criticizing her ex-husband or his new wife. Despite the divorce, she and her ex-husband agreed to co-parent their child.
Nurul and her ex-husband were married in 2016 but lived apart for two years. In 2018, he was involved in a car accident that resulted in head injuries, lung damage, and broken ribs.
