The storm had destroyed several roads around a remote military research facility.

A rescue team was sent underground after three maintenance workers became trapped inside an old service tunnel.

The team reached the entrance just as the emergency lights began flashing.

Suddenly, the heavy steel door behind them automatically closed.

Three workers were still on the other side.

WORKER:
“Help! We're still inside!”

The commander immediately checked the emergency system.

The tunnel had lost power, and the communication system was failing.

COMMANDER:
“Everyone stay calm. We're getting them out.”

The rescue team searched for another entrance.

But there was a problem.

The tunnel had become extremely unstable, and the main passage was filling with dust and smoke from damaged machinery.

Nobody knew how much time they had.

Then Ethan noticed an old maintenance map on the wall.

He discovered a small emergency passage leading around the blocked section.

ETHAN:

“There may be another way in.”

The commander looked at the narrow passage.

It was dark, cramped and difficult to access.

COMMANDER:
“It's too dangerous to enter alone.”

Ethan looked toward the trapped workers.

One of them was an older man calling for help.

Ethan picked up a flashlight and rescue rope.

ETHAN:
“Then I'll stay in contact with you the entire time.”

The commander reluctantly agreed.

Ethan entered the narrow passage.

He moved slowly through the darkness, following the emergency markings on the wall.

Then he heard a faint voice.

WORKER:
“Is someone there?”

Ethan smiled.

ETHAN:
“Yes. I'm here to get you out.”

He reached the trapped workers.

They were frightened and exhausted, but safe.

Ethan attached the rescue rope to them one by one.

ETHAN:
“Stay together. We're going back.”

The workers followed him through the passage.

Suddenly, the emergency lights went completely dark.

Everyone froze.

Ethan turned on his flashlight.

The narrow passage ahead was still visible.

ETHAN:
“Keep moving. Don't look back.”

They slowly continued toward the exit.

Finally, they reached the rescue team.

The commander immediately helped the workers outside.

Everyone thought the mission was over.

But Ethan wasn't there.

The commander looked back toward the tunnel.

COMMANDER:
“Where's Ethan?”

A few seconds later, Ethan emerged from the darkness.

He was carrying the old emergency map that had helped them find the hidden passage.

The commander looked at him and smiled.

COMMANDER:
“You went back for that?”

Ethan held up the map.

ETHAN:
“Someone else might need it.”

The commander looked at the rescued workers, then back at Ethan.

COMMANDER:
“That's why we can trust you.”

The team gathered around Ethan.

The workers thanked him.

Ethan simply smiled.

ENDING NARRATION

“A real hero doesn't enter danger because he isn't afraid. He enters because someone else needs him to be brave.”
