The Waiter Was the Millionaire’s Lost Son

The Chairman Recognized His Son by a Scar

Spagna: ristoratore fa pagare 40€ di penale allo staff per piatti rotti e cibo avanzato | Ultime notizie | Reporter Gourmet S.r.l.For twenty years, billionaire Edward Harrington searched for the son he had lost in a terrible accident.

On a stormy night, the car carrying his family crashed into a river. Edward survived, but his five-year-old son disappeared without a trace.

The police eventually declared the child dead.

But Edward never believed it.

He spent the next twenty years visiting orphanages, hiring investigators, and following every possible lead.

None of them brought his son back.

One evening, Edward hosted a grand charity banquet at his mansion.

Crystal chandeliers lit the hall, soft music filled the air, and wealthy guests from across the city arrived in elegant gowns and suits.

Among the temporary staff was a quiet young waiter named Lucas.

Lucas had grown up in an orphanage and remembered almost nothing about his childhood except for a small crescent-shaped scar on his left shoulder.

The head housekeeper, Mr. Collins, disliked him immediately.

He looked at Lucas’s slightly oversized uniform and said coldly,

“Stand up straight. This is not a place for clumsy boys.”

Lucas lowered his head.

“Yes, sir.”

As the banquet began, Lucas carried trays of wine through the crowded hall. A guest accidentally bumped into him, and a few drops spilled onto the tablecloth.

Collins rushed over.

“Do you know how expensive this tablecloth is?”

“I’m sorry, sir. I’ll clean it immediately.”

Collins snatched the cloth from his hands.

“People like you should be grateful just to work in this mansion.”

Several guests turned to look.

Lucas’s face burned with embarrassment, but he remained silent.

Later, while arranging glasses in the kitchen, Collins deliberately pushed a stack of plates toward him.

The plates crashed to the floor.

“What have you done?” Collins shouted loudly enough for everyone to hear.

Lucas stared at the broken pieces.

“I didn’t touch them.”

Collins smirked.

“People like you always have an excuse.”

The other staff members looked at Lucas with sympathy, but no one dared to speak.

Edward happened to pass by the kitchen and saw Lucas kneeling on the marble floor, picking up the broken pieces with trembling hands.

For some reason, the sight made his heart ache.

He was about to step forward, but Collins immediately changed his tone.

“Just a small mistake, sir. I’ll handle it.”

Edward nodded and walked away, though his eyes lingered on the young waiter.

During the most important part of the evening, Lucas was asked to bring hot tea to the VIP room.

Collins blocked his path.

“Don’t ruin anything again.”

Lucas carefully carried the tray with both hands.

As he passed, Collins suddenly struck the tray with his elbow.

The kettle tipped over.

Boiling water splashed across Lucas’s shoulder and arm.

He cried out in pain, and the tray crashed to the floor.

The entire room fell silent.

Lucas instinctively pulled at his soaked sleeve.

The fabric shifted, revealing a small crescent-shaped scar on his left shoulder.

At the head of the table, Edward Harrington stood up so suddenly that his spoon fell to the floor.

He stared at the scar, unable to breathe.

Twenty years earlier, his little son had received that exact scar after falling against a garden lamp.

It was impossible to mistake.

Edward walked toward Lucas with trembling hands.

“Where did you get that scar?”

Lucas was still holding his burned shoulder.

“I’ve had it since I was very young. I don’t remember much.”

Tears filled Edward’s eyes.

“Your mother used to call it your moon scar.”

Lucas looked up in shock.

Edward pulled an old photograph from his wallet.

It showed a smiling five-year-old boy standing between his parents.

The same scar was visible on the child’s shoulder.

Lucas stared at the photograph.

His hands began to shake.

Fragments of memory flooded back—a woman singing, a garden full of flowers, a man lifting him into the air and calling his name.

“Lucas!”

He stepped back, his voice breaking.

“Father…?”

Edward could no longer hold back his tears.

He pulled Lucas into a tight embrace.

“I found you. After all these years, I finally found you.”

The guests watched in stunned silence.

Collins turned pale and stepped backward.

Edward looked at him with a coldness no one had ever seen before.

“You burned my son.”

Collins stammered,

“Sir, I didn’t know—”

Edward interrupted him.

“If he were not my son, would you still think you had the right to treat him that way?”

No one answered.

Edward placed a gentle hand on Lucas’s shoulder.

“You are not a waiter here anymore.”

Then he looked around the silent hall.

“This has always been your home.”

Lucas burst into tears.

For twenty years, he had wandered through life without a family, looked down on by others, never knowing that the mansion where he served in silence was the very home he had lost as a child.

Edward held his son tightly.

And for the first time in twenty years, neither of them was lost anymore.
