The courtroom was already tense when the woman began describing what she claimed her husband had done.

She told the judge that her marriage had fallen apart after years of disagreements, and that her husband had abandoned the family while trying to take control of their home.

She said she had been left with no choice but to bring the dispute before the court.

Her husband denied everything.

He sat quietly beside his attorney while his wife continued speaking. He rarely looked at her, and his expression remained difficult to read.

The woman insisted that she had evidence to support her claims.

For several minutes, her attorney presented documents and explained why she believed the court should rule in her favor.

The husband’s attorney challenged parts of her account, but the case still appeared to be moving in the woman’s direction.

Then the judge called an unexpected witness.

The husband’s mother.

The woman immediately looked surprised.

She had expected her mother-in-law to support her son.

After all, the older woman had remained close to him throughout the dispute.

But when she stepped forward to testify, she did not immediately take either side.

She listened carefully as the judge asked her about what had happened between the couple.

The wife watched her closely.

The older woman hesitated.

The wife stared at her mother-in-law, seemingly unsure what she was about to say next.

The husband looked toward his mother.

“Mom…”

But she continued.

The wife looked at her husband.

Neither seemed prepared for what was happening.

The judge asked whether there was any record or evidence of the conversation.

The older woman said there was information that could help confirm what she remembered.
