8. Watch the Child’s Breathing, Not Just the Fever

One of the biggest mistakes parents can make is focusing exclusively on temperature.

Breathing difficulty is often a much more important warning sign.

Seek urgent medical attention if a child develops:

  • Very rapid breathing
  • Struggling to breathe
