In early 2024, Ed Pownell from Lambourn, Berkshire (UK) spent 150 pounds to buy a chicken egg.

The chicken egg has a surprisingly high price due to its rare shape, unlike normal eggs. The chicken egg is spherical and symmetrical. It is known that a woman discovered it in an egg carton at a local supermarket in Ayr, Scotland.

David Miller, an employee of the Thomson Roddick Callan auction house, said that this is a "one in a billion" chicken egg.

Mr. Ed Pownell bought the egg at an auction in early 2024. In August 2024, he removed the white and yolk from the egg. Its outer shell was still intact.

He recently donated the egg to Iuventas, a charity that provides mentoring, life coaching and mental health support to young people across Oxfordshire.

After donating the egg to the charity, Ed Pownell felt very pleased and said it was "good value for money".

However, he shared that at first, the charity thought the egg was a joke, not expecting it to be so expensive.

On December 11, Iuventas put the egg up for auction. The final result surprised many people. An anonymous person bought the egg for ยฃ200 (more than 6.4 million VND).

Rozz Rapp, a representative of Iuventas, shared: "We are very pleased that someone bought the egg for a high price. This helps us continue our meaningful work".

The egg was just one of the items auctioned, raising a total of ยฃ5,000.
